Billie J. McLeskey, age 89, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at St. Thomas West Hospital.
Billie was born August 6, 1932, in Clay County, AR, to the late Wallace and Laura McLeskey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Paula Marie McLeskey; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandson, William Richard Jones III.
He is survived by six children, Billie (Judy) McLeskey, Jr., John (Connie) McLeskey, Dorothy McLeskey, Steven (Becky) McLeskey, Mason (Linda) McLeskey, and Lori (Stephan) Keck; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Billie retired from the US Army, having served 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam. During his service he performed many jumps, including an "all 13s" jump, from 13,000 feet, at 1300 hours, on the 13th day of the month. He later worked as an accountant for Stone, Rudolph, & Henry. Mr. McLeskey was a member of New Providence United Methodist Church, where he served as a deacon. Billie was a 69-year member of the Masonic Fraternity, a past member of Fort Campbell Masonic Lodge #946 in Oak Grove, KY, and past District Deputy Grand Master for District 4 of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid bowler, which he enjoyed with his wife, as well as a Cub Master. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Friday, April 8, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Kip McNeill officiating. Burial was followed at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Thursday, April 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Friday, April 8, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Billie's grandsons served as pallbearers.
